Paintball - Fair Play in the Game of Paintball

Paintball is an extremely physical game that is gaining popularity in many places. Though the inventors of this game did it for fun, it has evolved into the third most popular game in the world. For those who want to learn how to play paintball fairly there are certain rules and guidelines that need to be followed.

Fair play in the game of paintball starts with 1) Guns need be checked before being used in the matches because the maximum velocity allowed is 300 feet per second. Anything above that can cause serious injury to the players. As a precaution players use barrel plugs to avoid any misfiring incidents that could affect the safety of both the gun owner and the people who are present during the event.

2) Protective equipment must be worn at all times inside the playing field. This consists of a face mask, gloves, and pads for the chest, knees and elbows. When hit, the player must stand up with both hands in the air to inform everyone that he has been eliminated. If the person is not sure of being hit then the referee is available to confirm or deny the hit.

The facemask may fog up due to sweat, paint, dirt or bad weather. When this happens the player should inform the referee so that he can be escorted away from the field before returning to live play. In case the facemask falls off the same rule applies. During any such instance the opposing team is not allowed to fire at that person.

3) Paintball is a sport where a player can be eliminated two ways. The first is by being shot at and hit by an opposing player. Should a player wipe the paint off and continue playing the game but is caught by the referee, this is deemed as not fair play in the game of paintball and the player is automatically ejected from the game. This is a form of cheating that is never tolerated. The other way of taking out the opposing player and that is by asking the person to surrender. Should the player show any form of hostile action then you have no choice but to shoot the opponent. Players are not allowed to curse or physically contact the other members of the other team. This is not fair play!

Rules are made to protect the participants in any sport and paintball is no different . By knowing the basic rules and playing with enthusiasm and teamwork everyone will have fun and enjoy a good game of paintball played fairly.
